At Brezniak Rodman, we are committed to providing personalized
service and funeral direction to Jewish families. To achieve our objectives, owners David
Brezniak and George Rodman, arrange each funeral and ensure that every service detail and
family need is meticulously met. The following represents the most common services and
products that we provide for families. If you have special requests, please do not
hesitate to ask. We can be reached 24 hours a day, 365 days per year at (617) 969-0800. GRAVESIDE SERVICESGraveside services are held exclusively at the graveside. Friends and family meet at the cemetery, usually one half hour before the appointed service time. For example, at Sharon Memorial Park in Sharon, Massachusetts, graveside services are scheduled at quarter hour (0:45, 11:45, etc.) increments. The family, in many instances, drive their own cars, thereby saving the cost of a limousine. If the family wishes to use a limousine, this service can be arranged. Over 50% of all funeral services in the greater Boston area are conducted at the graveside. Families have told us that they have found the graveside service to be extremely beneficial in several ways. It eliminates the need for the funeral procession. The time spent at graveside for the service is not rushed and therefore it allows more opportunity for reflection and meditation. Families often tell us that the 30 or 40 people in attendance would be lost in a chapel that seats 150. Brezniak-Rodman supplies up to 50 seats for graveside services and a portable sound system. In cemeteries where a tent is not included in the opening charge we supply a tent whenever possible. The Brezniak-Rodman Staff at graveside supply register books and programs for the family and friends attending the service. During summer months, bottled water is also supplied for the family and guests. CHAPEL SERVICESOur Chapel services are held in Newton at 1251 Washington Street, West Newton, at the
corner of Washington and Chestnut streets. We can seat 85 people and standing room will
accommodate an additional 35 people. TEMPLE SERVICESMany families feel that a funeral service at the temple of their family member is very
personal and comforting. This is the spiritual home where many joyous and meaningful life
cycle events have taken place. Temples do not charge for funeral services at the temple;
However, it is customary for the family to make a donation to the temple or to the Rabbi's
discretionary fund. TEMPLE PARTNERSHIP PROGRAMBrezniak-Rodman Funeral Directors has partnered with several area Temples and Synagogues to enable funeral services for non-members to take place at these beautiful and expansive facilities. The following Temples are part of this program. Temple Ohabei Shalom, 1187 Beacon St., Brookline MEMORIAL SERVICESA memorial service can take place at a temple, chapel, academic setting or home. The
casket is not present at a memorial service. Brezniak-Rodman's funeral home staff provides
attendants at the Chapel, temple, home or other facility. CREMATION SERVICESLess than 10 per cent of Jewish families choose cremation. However if a family decides
to have a cremation, a service can still take place at a chapel, graveside or temple
(Reform). The cremation is typically performed at a local crematory, such as Newton
Cemetery or Mount Auburn. The burial of remains is permitted at Sharon Memorial Park, at
many of the cemeteries in West Roxbury, and other Jewish Cemeteries in the greater Boston
area. CASKET PRODUCTSClick here to view
