Phyllis Rosenfeld, of Sudbury, previously of Lexington and Chelsea, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on November 9, 2017. Phyllis Rosen was born in Chelsea, where she later served as secretary for the late Rabbi Benjamin Rodwogin, of blessed memory, at Temple Emmanuel in Chelsea. She and her late husband, Melvin, of blessed memory, also of Chelsea, moved to Lexington in 1960 where they were among the founding members of Temple Emunah. Phyllis was most proud of her children Ellyn Gimbel, Jay Rosenfeld his wife Lisa Segal, Susan Laufer and her husband Marc Laufer, and her 7 grandchildren: Adam & Ari Gimbel, Zachary, Olivia and Emma Rosenfeld, and Isabella and Alexandra Laufer. Phyllis loved classical music and was a frequent visitor to the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Tanglewood in the summer. Phyllis and Mel enjoyed traveling around the world and often made life-long friends along the way. She loved her peaceful “oasis” in Sudbury. She touched people wherever she went and was loved by many. The service will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Beit Olam East Cemetery, 42 Concord Road/Route 126, Wayland, MA, followed by Shiva at the home of Sue & Marc Laufer, 33 October Lane, Weston, MA. Shiva will continue at the Laufer residence on Monday, November 13, 2017 from 6:30-8:30 pm.
