Richard H. Rosskam

Rosskam, Richard Henry, of Needham, MA on November 2, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Hana Demetz Rosskam. Devoted father of Carol Susan Rosskam, Joanne Rosskam Aliber, and Ellen Rosskam and her husband Alexandre Krasnosselski. Proud grandfather of Matthew Aliber and his wife Maggie, Josh and Ben Aliber. Brother of the late Lester Rosskam and his wife Irene. Richard is survived by his first wife and mother of the three surviving children, Roberta F. Rosskam. Richard was born in Philadelphia in 1927, and a graduate of Dickinson College. Until 1973, Richard and his family owned and operated Quaker City Chocolate & Confectionary Co. most famous for candies “Good N’ Plenty”, “Good N’ Fruity”, and engineer “Choo-Choo Charlie”. He had a deep love for his many leader dogs, who were his eyes into the world. Richard was widely admired for his unconquerable spirit and demeanor. His caregivers were his devoted friends and part of the family fabric. Services at the Wilson Chapel, 234 Herrick Rd., Newton Centre, on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 2 pm. Memorial observance will begin Sunday, November 4 at the home of Joanne Aliber, 3-6 pm. Memorial will continue at Joanne’s home following services Monday until 8 pm, and Tuesday 4-8 pm.
